An evening gown staple moves into your makeup kit.

Maybe in the age of Botox and eyelash bars, nothing should be surprising in the beauty world. And yet, when we heard about a new face powder made entirely of ground silk, we were a little floored.

The powder - or Kinuoshiroi, as it's called - comes from Japanese company Chidoriya, which claims silk protects skin from sun damage and won't clog pores.

But while the idea of cool silk on skin is very alluring,
